Refund Policy
When you can request a refund, how to request one, and how long it takes to hit your bank. Short, clear rules — no fine print.

We want you happy with your controller. If the build isn't right, arrives damaged, or fails under warranty, we'll issue a refund under the terms below.
1. When refunds apply
- Pre-modded stock controllers — full refund within 30 days of delivery if the controller is unused, undamaged, and in original packaging.
- Custom-built controllers — refund only if the controller is defective on arrival or doesn't match the specifications you ordered. Change-of-mind refunds are not offered on custom builds (each one is hand-built to your spec).
- Defective or damaged orders — always eligible for full refund, at any point within the warranty window. See our Warranty Page for detail.
- Lost in transit — if tracking shows no delivery within 30 days of our shipment date, we issue a full refund or a replacement at no cost to you.
2. When refunds don't apply
The following don't qualify for a refund:
- Change-of-mind returns on custom-built controllers, paint jobs, or hydro-dip shells.
- Controllers with visible use, wear, or signs of disassembly.
- Controllers damaged after delivery (accidental damage, liquid spills, pet damage).
- Gift cards and digital vouchers.
- Accessories sold as part of a bundle once the bundle packaging is opened.
3. How to request a refund
- Email refunds@megamods.net with your order number and the reason for the refund, within your eligible window.
- We reply within 1 business day with next steps — either a return authorization (RA) number if the product must come back to us, or a direct refund approval if it doesn't need to.
- If returning: pack the controller in its original packaging, include the RA number and a copy of your order confirmation, and ship via a trackable service.
- Once we receive and inspect the controller (usually 1–2 business days after delivery), we process the refund.
4. Refund processing time
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of inspection.
- Your bank or card issuer may take an additional 3–10 days to post the credit to your statement.
- Total time from shipment-to-refund is typically 10–20 business days including transit.
5. Partial refunds
In some cases we may offer a partial refund instead of a full one:
- Restocking fee — a 10% restocking fee applies to change-of-mind returns on pre-modded controllers that needed unboxing to inspect.
- Cosmetic damage — if a returned controller has light cosmetic scuffs from normal handling, we may issue a partial refund reflecting the reduced resale value.
- Missing packaging or accessories — returns missing the original box, mod-profile reference card, or unboxing accessories may receive a partial refund.
6. Shipping fees
- Original shipping fee — non-refundable on change-of-mind returns.
- Return shipping — you pay return shipping on change-of-mind returns; we cover it on defective / incorrect items (we'll email a prepaid label).
- International returns — customs duties and import fees are non-refundable. Return shipping is your responsibility unless the item is defective.
7. Refund vs replacement vs warranty repair
Three different paths depending on what's wrong:
- Refund — you get your money back. Use this path for change-of-mind returns or if you've lost confidence in the product.
- Replacement — we ship you a new controller of the same model. Usually faster than a refund if the issue is a clear defect.
- Warranty repair — we fix the original controller and ship it back. See the Warranty Page for coverage details.
Our team will suggest the right path when you email us. You can always request a refund instead of a replacement if you'd rather.
8. Cancellations before shipment
If you cancel an order before we've shipped it, we issue a full refund including the shipping fee — no restocking fee, no conditions. Email us within 24 hours of placing the order to catch it before our workshop starts the build.
Custom-builds: once the build has started (usually 24–48 hours after order), cancellation switches to the standard defect-only refund policy because the parts are already being used on your specific build.
9. Disputes and chargebacks
If you disagree with a refund decision, email support@megamods.net and we'll escalate to a manager within 1 business day. We'd much rather resolve issues directly than fight a chargeback — 95%+ of our disputes end with the customer happy without ever involving the card network.
