The MW2 trick, automated

Quick Scope controller mod — scope, shoot, unscope

Quick Scope fires the instant your scope hits peak zoom — the exact frame where damage multipliers are maximum and scope sway is zero. What took years of muscle memory to master on MW2 and BO2 is now a single trigger pull on every scoped weapon in every modern shooter.

What is the Quick Scope mod?

Born in MW2, refined in every COD since. Quick Scope is a timing mod that makes a mechanic that used to separate pros from casuals available at the press of a button.

Quick Scope is a timing-sensitive controller mod that fires your weapon at the exact frame your scope reaches peak zoom. In most shooters, scoped weapons go through three states: scoping in (the zoom animation), scoped (full zoom, full damage, zero sway), and scoping out. Damage multipliers and accuracy penalties are reset only during the scoped window — firing before or after costs you either damage, accuracy, or both. Quick Scope automates the trigger pull so it lands in that sweet spot every time.

How it works at the controller level

When you press the scope button (usually L2/LT), the chip records the timestamp and starts a tuned delay — typically 280–420 milliseconds depending on the game and weapon profile. At the end of that delay, the chip sends a trigger press (R2/RT) to the console. The result is that you press scope, the chip waits the exact scope-in duration, and fires on the first frame your crosshair locks at peak zoom.

A trained human can do this manually with 60–70% consistency after years of practice. The chip hits it every time, because it's pressing the trigger on a hardware timer — there's no rhythm variance, no fatigue, no missed inputs. You see an enemy, click L2+R2, watch them drop.

Why peak zoom matters

  • Damage multipliers — Most shooters apply full sniper damage only when fully scoped. Firing during the scope-in animation halves your damage, so what should be a one-shot becomes a wound.
  • Accuracy reset — The bloom / spread on a scoped weapon resets to its tightest value only at peak zoom. Early shots are noticeably less accurate even if you land the crosshair.
  • Scope sway — Many scopes sway during scope-in and stabilize at full zoom. Firing at the stabilization frame means your shot goes exactly where your crosshair is, not where it was 50ms ago.

Game-specific tuning

The critical detail: every game has a different scope-in time per weapon. COD's MW3 has a Heavy Sniper that scopes in at 340ms; Apex's Kraber sits around 450ms. Our chip ships with per-weapon timing profiles so your Quick Scope fires at the right frame whether you're on a Kar98 in PUBG or a Longbow in Apex. Generic "fast scope" mods that use a single timer feel broken — too early and you half-damage, too late and the enemy moves. Our profiles are tuned to the millisecond.

Where Quick Scope dominates

Every scoped weapon in every modern shooter benefits. Here are the weapons where the mod is meta-defining.

Call of Duty

Bolt-action snipers

Kar98k, HDR, Locus, LW3 Tundra, XRK Stalker — one-shot to the chest with a quickscope that lands on scope peak. The MW2 legacy weapon class.

Call of Duty

Semi-auto snipers

SP-R 208, MK2 Carbine, Kar98 marksman variant. Stack with Rapid Fire for double-tap quickscopes — miss first shot, hit second within 150ms.

Fortnite

Heavy Sniper & Bolt-action

The Fortnite one-tap. Quickscope shaves the scope-in time that's lost you so many build fights when an enemy peeks and shoots first.

Fortnite

Scoped Revolver

High damage, long scope-in. Quick Scope makes it viable in mid-range duels where the scope time normally punishes you.

Apex Legends

Kraber & Charge Rifle

Kraber is a 140-damage one-shot to the head at peak zoom. Quick Scope lands that headshot the instant ADS finishes — ALGS-level sniper play.

Apex Legends

Longbow & Sentinel

Mid-range DMR snipers. Combined with Rapid Fire, you fire maximum-damage shots at maximum speed.

PUBG

Kar98k, M24, AWM

PUBG's bolt actions have generous scope-in animations. Quick Scope makes them feel like semi-autos — peek, scope, one-tap.

Battlefield

SWS-10, DXR-1, BF1 bolts

Recon snipers on large BF maps. Quick Scope turns them from "patient perch" weapons into aggressive push weapons.

Rainbow 6 Siege

DMRs & ACOG rifles

Siege's DMR class. Quick Scope makes peek-fights devastating — you lean out already firing at scope peak instead of after.

Why Quick Scope earns its reputation

Rapid Fire makes semi-autos fast. Auto Aim sharpens your tracking. Quick Scope turns every sniper into a one-shot monster.

Full damage, every time

The chip fires at peak zoom — always. You get the full damage multiplier, full accuracy, zero sway. Manual quickscoping hits those conditions maybe 70% of the time; the mod hits 100%.

No skill-floor penalty

Quick Scope is a mechanical skill that took hours to master. The chip gives you the payoff without the grind — spend that time learning positioning instead.

Stacks with other mods

Quick Scope + Rapid Fire on semi-auto snipers = two quickscopes in under half a second. Add Auto Aim and you've got a guaranteed headshot pipeline.

Toggleable on the fly

Holding ADS to stay scoped still works — the chip only fires automatically when you tap-scope. Two-button combo disables the mod entirely for clean ranked runs.

Tap-scope vs hold-scope

The mod detects how you're using the scope button and behaves differently — so you don't lose the ability to hold-scope when you want to.

Tap-scope (mod engages)

If you tap the scope button and release within ~150ms, the chip reads this as "quickscope intent." It holds the scope button down internally, waits the weapon's scope-in time, fires the trigger, and releases scope. You see your character scope in, shoot, and unscope in a single fluid motion. Perfect for darting engagements.

Hold-scope (mod disengages)

If you hold the scope button longer than 150ms, the chip doesn't auto-fire. You're in regular ADS mode — sit scoped, track targets, manually pull the trigger when you're ready. Essential for long-range play where you want to breathe and wait for the shot.

Adjustable scope-in times

  • Per-game profiles — Each game ships with scope-in timings per weapon class (bolt-action, DMR, tactical, etc.).
  • Manual offset — Fine-tune the timing ±30ms via a button combo if you prefer firing slightly before or after peak zoom.
  • Season updates — Remote updates push new timings when a game patches scope animations.

Quick Scope FAQ

Everything snipers ask before picking up a Quick Scope-equipped controller.

Does Quick Scope hit headshots automatically?
No — Quick Scope handles the timing, not the aiming. You still have to put your crosshair on the enemy. The mod just guarantees the trigger pulls at peak zoom so your shot does maximum damage and has maximum accuracy. If you want aim help too, pair it with our Auto Aim mod, which sharpens the game's built-in rotational assist.
Will Quick Scope work on bolt-action snipers?
Yes, and it's especially valuable on bolt-actions. The Kar98k in COD, M24 in PUBG, and Kraber in Apex all benefit enormously. The bolt-action cycle happens AFTER the shot, so Quick Scope lands your first round at the exact frame damage is maxed — the cycle animation follows normally.
Can I still hold-scope and breathe for long-range shots?
Yes. The chip only engages the auto-fire if you tap-release the scope button within ~150ms. Hold scope longer than that and you're in regular ADS — breathe, hold, line up, and pull the trigger manually. Quick Scope is additive, it doesn't remove your normal sniping.
Will anti-cheat detect Quick Scope?
No. The chip sends normal HID trigger/aim inputs timed precisely — nothing an anti-cheat can distinguish from a skilled player manually quickscoping. Ricochet, BattlEye, EAC, Vanguard, FairFight: none can see into console controller firmware. Zero bans in 50,000+ units shipped.
Does it work on scoped ARs and DMRs, or only snipers?
Any scoped weapon. DMRs, scoped ARs, crossbows, even scoped pistols work the same way — the mod times the trigger to peak zoom regardless of weapon category. Only close-range iron-sight weapons don't benefit, since they don't have a scope-in animation.
Does the mod work with different sensitivity / ADS settings?
Yes — scope-in times are determined by the game, not your sensitivity. Your stick sens affects how fast you move the crosshair, but not how fast the scope zooms. The mod's timing is independent of your settings.
Will it feel weird for someone used to manual quickscoping?
For the first few matches, yes. You're used to pressing scope and trigger together — now you just press scope and the trigger lands for you. Most players adapt within 30 minutes and find their hit rate dramatically higher. If the automation feels too "on rails," the timing offset lets you add a bit of delay so it feels less robotic.
Is Quick Scope available on PS5, PS4 and Xbox One?
Yes — same mod chip, same timings, same per-weapon profiles across all three platforms. Modded PS5, PS4, and Xbox One controllers all ship with Quick Scope installed and tuned.
