Akimbo controller mod — both triggers, one finger
Akimbo fires both your left and right triggers in the same frame, so dual-wield weapons and one-handed-fire setups rip at full rate from a single trigger press. Your thumb stays on the right stick, your aim stays locked, and both guns empty into the enemy at the same time — the way Akimbo was always meant to feel.
What is the Akimbo mod?
An ergonomics and speed mod for dual-wield loadouts. The mechanic is simple — both fire triggers send a press-signal in the exact same frame — but the practical benefit is enormous if you play CoD akimbo, Fortnite dual pistols, or GTA heists with paired weapons.
Akimbo is a trigger-synchronization mod that takes any press of your fire trigger (right trigger / R2 / RT) and mirrors it onto your left trigger (L2 / LT) in the same HID packet. From the console's perspective, both triggers were pulled at the exact same moment — which means for any dual-wield weapon setup, both guns fire simultaneously with a single physical input.
Why you want this on dual-wield loadouts
In most shooters with akimbo weapons (CoD's Akimbo Basilisks, Akimbo Snakeshots, Akimbo Renettis; Fortnite's Dual Pistols; GTA's dual-wield pistols), each hand is bound to a separate trigger. The default setup means you have to pull both L2 and R2 at the same time — which is fine in theory, but under pressure most players end up staggering the triggers by 30–100ms, firing one gun a beat before the other. Over a full engagement that's hundreds of milliseconds of lost DPS.
The Akimbo mod fixes the stagger permanently: both triggers are exactly synced, so both guns fire on the same frame, land their bullets in the same tick, and your akimbo weapon does its full mathematical damage per trigger pull. It's the difference between landing 80 damage and landing 160 damage in the same close-range duel.
How the chip does it
When Akimbo mode is active and you pull the right trigger, the chip:
- Detects the R2 press — standard HID event from the trigger electronics.
- Emits an L2 press in the same packet — the console sees both trigger events arrive in the exact same HID frame (16ms at 60fps).
- Mirrors the release — when you release R2, L2 is also released simultaneously, preventing one gun from looping fire while the other is idle.
Because both events travel in the same packet, the game engine processes them in the same physics tick. No frame-offset, no priority quirks. Perfect synchronization.
Optional staggered mode for recoil control
In some games, firing both guns at the literal same frame stacks the recoil and throws your crosshair off target faster than a human can counter. For those cases, the chip ships with a staggered mode that offsets the L2 press by 40–80ms after R2, keeping the effective DPS high while the recoil spreads out across two distinct animation frames. Per-game profile defaults pick the right mode for the weapon.
Where Akimbo shines
Nine dual-wield loadouts across console's biggest shooters where syncing both triggers turns the gun category from "fun gimmick" into "fight-ender."
Akimbo .50 GS Pistols
The most iconic akimbo loadout in COD. Frame-perfect trigger sync turns the dual Deserts into a one-shot close-range weapon most players can't react to.
Akimbo Snakeshots
The Revolver-based shotgun-pistol hybrid. Synced triggers melt plates at 5–10m — the Akimbo mod was practically made for this weapon class.
Akimbo Renetti / Diamatti
Black Ops's pistol akimbo meta. Full-auto burst fire from both triggers in sync — devastating against armored opponents at point-blank.
Dual Pistols
Fortnite's seasonal dual-pistol hop-up. Akimbo keeps both barrels firing on the same frame, doubling effective fire rate vs the stock staggered mode.
Double Barrel Shotgun
Both shells on a single trigger pull — a legitimate one-hit-to-knock at close range when both barrels land on the same frame.
Dual-wield pistols (heists)
Cayo Perico and Doomsday heists let you dual-wield .50 pistols — Akimbo fires both at once, clearing guard patrols without the manual-stagger fumble.
Mozambique swap chains
Not true akimbo but useful: when swap-chaining between two pistol slots, Akimbo ensures both triggers fire together when the second pistol mounts.
Sidearm combos
Some BF sandboxes allow sidearm dual-wielding in special kits. Synced triggers make the dual-pistol class a real option in Conquest close-quarter fights.
Paired-weapon kits
Modern shooters that ship paired-weapon kits all benefit from synced fire. Akimbo is weapon-agnostic — wherever two triggers fire two guns, the mod applies.
Why Akimbo feels game-changing
The difference between "fun dual-wield" and "actually lethal dual-wield" is usually the 40–100ms stagger between your two triggers. This mod deletes the stagger.
Frame-perfect sync
Both triggers fire in the same HID packet, processed on the same game tick. Zero stagger, zero frame offset. Humans can't match that consistency under pressure.
Undetectable
Two trigger presses arriving together is standard HID data — nothing for anti-cheat to flag. Zero bans in 50k+ units shipped across Ricochet, BattlEye, EAC, FairFight.
Stacks with Rapid Fire
Turn on Rapid Fire and Akimbo together — both triggers auto-cycle at the engine cap, synced to each other. Dual semi-autos become dual full-autos at the engine's max fire rate.
Toggle per loadout
Not running akimbo this match? Two-button combo disables the mod so L2 and R2 work independently again. Toggle back on when you swap to a dual-wield class.
Settings & modes
Three engagement modes let you tune Akimbo to the weapon class and the feel you want.
Mirror mode (default)
Every R2 press mirrors instantly to L2 in the same frame. Maximum damage, maximum bullets-on-target in the shortest time window. Best for pistol akimbo and shotgun akimbo where you want the raw burst damage.
Staggered mode
L2 fires 40–80ms after R2 (configurable). The slight offset spreads recoil across two distinct animation frames, keeping your crosshair closer to target on the second shot. Best for higher-recoil akimbo weapons (Akimbo Renettis, dual AKs) where pure mirror mode throws your aim too far.
Right-hand priority
Both triggers fire together, but if the weapon runs out of ammo on one side, the chip stops sending the L2 signal so you can continue firing the right weapon until it also empties. Saves you from awkward half-magazine states in intense fights.
Per-game auto-profile
When you swap the chip's game profile (COD → Fortnite, for example), the Akimbo mode auto-tunes to a game-appropriate default. COD profile uses mirror; Fortnite uses staggered; GTA uses mirror. You don't need to remember which mode was right for which title.
